About College (College Profile) :

Shri Shiv - Shahu Mahavidyalaya, Sarud, an affiliated educational institute to Shivaji University, Kolhapur was established in 1983 with the sole purpose of providing higher education to the aspiring and needy students located in the remote & hilly parts of Shahuwadi, Panhala and Shirala Tehsil, 40 km away from the district of Kolhapur in Western Maharashtra. The college runs both in regular and distant U.G. Programmes in Arts, Commerce and Science and P.G. programmes in Arts and Commerce. Besides, the college has also introduced 23 Add-on, 01 Certificate and 02 Value Added courses in order to ensure all-round development of more than 1000 students.

The college is being recognized under section 2 (f) and 12 (B) by the U.G.C. in 1990 and has been reaccredited with ‘B’ Grade (CGPA 2.41) in its third Cycle by NAAC (An Autonomous Institution of the U.G.C.) in September 2018. The college is located on a 6 acre land of which 45425 sq. ft infrastructure has been utilized to provide educational services to students and stakeholders. We are continuously striving to develop students’ potential in order to make them intellectually smart and socially responsible citizens. Our efforts to motivate and educate more and more girl students have borne fruits as the number of girl students admitted in the college has been increasing every year.
